Meet us at the March for Life

Spread the word among all your friends and contacts with other troops, and of course especially among Catholic troops:  If you plan to participate in the annual March for Life in Washington, DC, please encourage your Troop to join with others on the Catholic Trail (and other Trail Life troops) for a show of solidarity.

Weather conditions are expected to be ideal for this time of the year, and we encourage all who are able to make it, please be witnesses for the dignity of human life.

If you are unable to be there in person, make a spiritual communion with those who are at the March, and please make a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament for this most worthy of intentions.

For those attending the March, we recommend as follows:

> Wear a Trail Life baseball cap if possible. Bring drinking water. Dress warm but in layers in case you feel overheated.

> Bring a bag lunch and/or spending money to grab food from a vendor or one of the food court restaurants at Union Station.

> Meet at 12:30 PM at the National Archives. Take photos of other Trail Life troops also meeting here at this time.

> View National Declaration of Independence, describing our inalienable right to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, as well as the US Constitution.

> Time Permitting, walk to 12th Street for beginning of March.  (Our Lady of Guadalupe Troop VA-1212 will be marching alongside the folks from Human Life International.  Feel free to join us and maximize the visibility of Trail Life Troop Flags.)

> In addition to your Troop colors, don't forget  to march with the US Flag and the Papal Flag of the Vatican.

> 1 PM — March for Life.

> From the end of the March at the Supreme Court, walk to St. Peter’s for donuts and hot beverages.

What is a Wayfarer?
A Wayfarer is a person who travels by foot.  In a well-known traditional hymn, the "wayfaring stranger" is a pilgrim who stands apart as he moves through this world in hopeful anticipation of the Kingdom of God.  Inasmuch as Trailmen have accepted the Biblical challenge to "Walk Worthy", we have adopted this name for a newsletter that encourages robust Catholic participation in Trail Life USA.

What is the "CatholicTrail"?
The website of the National Catholic Committee for Trail Life USA is found at the CatholicTrail website. Please check the site regularly and submit reports and pictures of your troop activities so that all Catholics participating in Trail Life can share ideas and resources as to the best ways to conduct a rigorous adventuring program within a robust  Catholic culture of fraternal support in the faith.
